Rehoming an Egyptian Mau
Life sometimes changes in ways we cannot foresee. If you can no longer care for your Egyptian Mau, please do not worry — and please do not rush to rehome privately. Contact your cat’s breeder first: responsible breeders will always want to help, and many will take a cat back or help find a suitable new home. If that is not possible, the club can offer advice and, where we can, help to place a Mau in a carefully chosen home.
Thinking of an Egyptian Mau?
An Egyptian Mau is a commitment for the whole of its life, which can be fifteen years or more. Always buy from a GCCF-registered breeder who health-tests, socialises their kittens and offers lifelong support — never from an unknown online seller. A good breeder is the best welfare safeguard a kitten can have.
